At EcoPhi, we understand the work we do can have lasting impact.
Thus, accountability is an important cornerstone for our business. We build our sense of accountability by realizing the bigger picture.
That is, to benefit society as a whole, we don't shy away from larger issues regarding social and environmental justice.
Below, you will find some of the philosophies and initiatives we seek to implement throughout our work.
Reverence for Nature
We want our work to be compatible with a healthy Earth. That means being less disruptive to nature; instead,
we strive to become more in tune with it. With years of experience in the industry, we have developed a deep understanding for making our work more compatible with the environments we live in. For us, that can take many forms.
Using natural materials for construction is just one of the ways in which we strive to be less harmful to Earth.
Sacred Geometry
Sacred Geometry is an ancient science that studies the natural patterns in which natural life forms are structured. Phi, often referred to as the "golden ratio," is a numerical device for calculating sacred geometry. This is one of EcoPhi's founding pillars. "Phi" is included in our name because we believe in its significance for creating better environments with intentionality and a reverence for nature.
Health & Wellbeing
EcoPhi aligns with holistic practices for not just our basic human needs, but for advancing quality of life further than what has become custom. This involves utilizing both new and ancient practices so that we carefully design for the betterment of humans.
Openness & Honesty
Taking an honest approach to achieving progress and communicating openly amongst collaborators is our bread and butter. We understand the importance of fairness when it comes to cost. Our goal is to alleviate any worries that may come with cost constraints or ulterior motives during a project. In this way, our projects have less obstacles, so we can focus on a clear vision for the collective goals.
Sustainability
Between different contexts and applications, sustainability can take various forms. At EcoPhi, we aim to create sustainable solutions whenever possible. As new technologies and methods emerge, EcoPhi hopes to tether our work to the pursuit of more efficient and environmentally harmonious systems.
Cohousing
Co-developed, co-designed, and co-organized -- Cohousing is a term introduced by The Cohousing Company. Cohousing can be described in many different ways such as "extensive common facilities that supplement and facilitate the daily living" where "common facilities are perceived as an extension of each household’s own private house." This establishes a supportive neighborhood for daily living needs.
Community & Collaboration
Our work centers around community. It is our North Star. EcoPhi approaches every situation with collaboration, working closely with clients and communities to understand their needs and goals, and to create solutions that are tailored to their specific requirements. We're transparent and communicative throughout every process.
Education & Accessibility
Our development is based in knowledge sharing and learning. We hope to create opportunities for anyone to learn about new ideas and methods. Let's help each other learn and grow.
